In case you didn't realize why the pledge was set at 2010 - see the date. Actually I was also unaware when I first heard about the One Voice Hour. So you are not alone.
Here’s the extract of the pledge:
We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.
